A senior student on scholarship at the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, Alexa Jeffrey will soon graduate with a degree in marketing administration and a minor in hospitality and tourism management. Ms. Jeffrey concurrently works part-time as a marketing and sales professional at State Farm Insurance in Columbia and has a year of real-world business experience in that position. As part of the sales team at State Farm, Alexa Jeffrey has augmented sales performance by applying the latest needs-based sales approaches and customer relationship marketing (CRM) techniques in person and online, which has helped her team achieve a target of 30 policy signings per month. On the University of South Carolina campus, Ms. Jeffrey also acts as a Microsoft UCrew Representative and, in that capacity, manages customer-engagement and promotional activities for Windows-based products. To date, for Microsoft’s UCrew campus outreach program she has engaged with over 560 students, leading them through hands-on peer-to-peer product trials on campus.
Aside from school and work, Alexa Jeffrey is actively involved in her college community. As an active member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, she collaborates with over 100 chapter members on student-led philanthropy and service projects. Ms. Jeffrey also earned membership in the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society through her strong academic performance, and she placed in the top 20 percent of the 2013 graduating class at the University of South Carolina.
In her personal life, Alexa Jeffrey is a world traveler and outdoor sports enthusiast. She completed courses in international studies and tourism management at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia, in 2011, where she also earned her SCUBA certification for open-water diving. Ms. Jeffrey competes annually in the USMC Mud Run in South Carolina, and she enjoys golf and skeet shooting. True to her hometown of Charlotte, she supports local charity organizations, including the Charlotte Rescue Mission and Harvest Hope.
